PG&E Daily Cost Tracker

Automate your daily PG&E energy cost tracking. This workflow uses Airtop to log into your account, extract daily electricity and gas costs, and sends a formatted report to your email via Gmail.

Automatically track and receive daily email reports of your PG&E energy costs by automating login, data extraction, and notification.

🧠 Description & Use Case

This workflow automates the process of checking your daily energy costs on the PG&E website. It logs into your account, navigates to the cost details page, extracts the daily electricity and gas usage data, and sends a formatted HTML report directly to your email. This eliminates the need to manually log in every day, providing a convenient and consistent way to monitor your energy consumption and expenses.

🔧 How It Works:

  1. Schedule & Setup: The workflow is triggered to run daily at 8 AM. The Variables node must be configured with your PG&E username, password, and the email address where you want to receive the report.
  2. Automated Browser Session: An Airtop session is created, which opens a new browser window and navigates to the PG&E mobile login page.
  3. Login Process: The workflow automatically types your username and password into the respective fields to log into your account.
  4. Navigation: After logging in, the workflow intelligently navigates through the PG&E dashboard:
    • It waits a few seconds for the page to load and dismisses any initial pop-up modals.
    • It clicks on "Energy Usage Details," then "Energy Costs."
    • It attempts to select the "Combined" view for electricity and gas. If this view isn't available, the workflow continues without error.
  5. Data Extraction: The Extract Costs node uses a powerful prompt to read the webpage content and extract the daily cost information. It is instructed to format this data into a clean HTML email body, listing costs from the most recent day to the oldest.
  6. Email Reporting & Cleanup: The extracted HTML report is sent to your specified email address using the Gmail node. Finally, the End session node closes the browser, ensuring a clean exit.
